If you’re a SmarterQueue user, you saw the announcement on October 30,
As you know, I’m a big fan of SmarterQueue AND Tailwind. I use both in my business. But I’m also a big fan of efficiency and saving money. So that begs the question:
SmarterQueue vs Tailwind– which is the best Pinterest scheduler? And do I still need Tailwind if SmarterQueue does it all?
Pin Curation
Both tools have curation options within their platforms. If you currently use the SmarterQueue curation section, then SmarterQueue will be the winner for you here. Tailwind’s curation features are fantastic within Tribes (which I’ll talk about in a few paragraphs).
If you’re looking for specific categories, I’d give SmarterQueue the win in this category, but just by a hair.
Pin Scheduling
I’m not even going to wait until the end of this section to tell you my choice here–it’s SmarterQueue. It has everything I WISH Tailwind had in terms of scheduling. You can be so much more strategic and deliberate with your pinning now!
SmarterQueue lets you create a Posting Plan (formerly called your Schedule) with different categories at different times.
Now, if you were a user of BoardBooster before all of the issues with those accounts, you’ll really like this feature: by plugging in evergreen pins, SmarterQueue will automatically continue to share your top, non-time-sensitive content.
You can even plan ahead with seasonal categories! Get annual traffic to your holiday content that starts to go live in July each year.
Tailwind just launched a Beta program for SmartLoop which does offer evergreen and seasonal features. You cannot select days and times, but it does

Tailwind Tribes might be the case for keeping both SmarterQueue and Tailwind IF you use the feature and IF you’re seeing a lot of converting web traffic from it. One of my clients sees a lot of

Thanks for your article, you’re one of the only ones comparing the two services! I have been using both for years and was wondering if I could cancel Tailwind to go exclusively to SmarterQueue, but I have a question for you: it seems like it is MUCH more time consuming to schedule pins on SQ vs TW since you can only do one at a time. Unless I am missing something? With TW I can grab one image and schedule it to go to 30+ boards and it would take 30x as long for me to do that same thing in SQ. So unless SQ changes something, I think I am stuck with keeping both services for now. My TW subscription renews in a few days which is unfortunate because I trust that SQ will add features to the Pinterest functionality that could make it a true replacement.
I totally agree, Amanda! Thank you so much for your comment. Right now it is more time consuming, but something I do love about SQ is that they seem to take user feedback into account.
I still do have accounts with both, and anticipate doing so at least for a few more months (my annual plan doesn’t renew until February I believe). I’ll be reevaluating then, but for now, I think power pinners like yourself will see benefits in having both accounts.
