5 Podcasts to Motivate You Today

I listen to a lot of podcasts. Like…a lot of them. Nothing fires me up more than hearing another entrepreneur speak. And nothing inspires me more! My brain just starts firing on all cylinders and it is the BEST FEELING EVER. Getting those ideas and needing to write them down immediately (thank you, Voice To Text).

Plus, with an 11 month old, the time for reading a physical book just doesn’t exist right now. So this is how I do a lot of my learning. I also listen to audiobooks (maybe I’ll do a post on those next!).

But today, we’re talking podcasts. Specifically, ones that will inspire you today. Right now. As soon as you open up your podcast app of choice (mine is Podcast Addict) and press play. I’ve even included some episode recommendations to get you started.

1. Lightbulb Moment with Becky Mollenkamp

This newer podcast by Becky Mollenkamp is all about those inspiration points. That place where you get the new idea or realization in your life. Your lightbulb moments. The people she has interviewed so far have been wonderful to listen to and learn from.

Episode of choice: 03: Boundaries Help Creativity with Kathleen Shannon

2. Goal Digger Podcast

Jenna Kutcher brings us on a journey to dig our biggest goals on her podcast. While she started as a photographer (and still is one), most of her episodes apply to anyone in the online world. I love her Friday 5s where she covers one topic briefly with 5 points. They’re also shorter episodes and tend to be the perfect length for while I get ready in the morning.

Episode of choice: 137: How To Balance Being Multi-Passionate

3. Online Marketing Made Easy

Amy Porterfield is one of the first online marketing “gurus” I started following and this is one of the first business podcasts I subscribed to (in fact, it might be the very first one)! Something I love about Amy’s podcast is her focus on ACTION. It is rare to hear an episode that doesn’t give you actionable steps to take next. She also covers mostly topics I’m interested in, so it’s not common for me to skip an episode. Oh, and her voice is also extremely soothing to listen to.

Episode of choice: 206: The Post-It Content Creation Mini Training

4. The Strategy Hour

The ladies over at Think Creative Collective branched out into the Strategy Hour podcast which is another in regular rotation for me. Their upbeat attitude and lack of, as they put it, sugarcoated strategies, makes this a slam dunk for me most weeks. Their energy makes it hard to end an episode without wanting to run to my computer and start working on something new.

Episode of choice: 237: Feel-Good Marketing: Using Your Personality to Grow Your Biz with Brit Kolo of Jam Marketing Group

5. Wonderful!

Stay with me on this one. Wonderful! is not a business podcast. In fact, it’s nowhere near that. It’s not self help. It’s not academic. It’s…positive. The extremely simple and lovely premise of the show is that it is Griffin and Rachel McElroy talking about things they find wonderful. You’ll recognize Griffin from the extremely popular My Brother My Brother and Me podcast, and you’ll recognize Rachel from her musing on Twitter (plus other Wonderful! things). Conversations have ranged from poetry to food to aspects of their marriage. It’s my go-to podcast for when I just want to be happy and laugh.
