Do you use a tool to automate your social media posts?

If I didn’t, my social media updates would be all over the place. There would be days (weeks?) where a platform wasn’t updated. And you and I both know that’s a terrible practice. You need to show your customers that you’re there and responsive when they need you.

Over the 7+ years I’ve been working in social media, I’ve used quite a few different social media management tools. This means I’ve seen the good, the bad, and the downright ugly (because user experience matters!). If there’s a free tool, I’ve probably tried it. If a paid tool has a free trial, I’ve likely tested it out. (You know how I feel about testing things.)

Some of the tools I’ve used for longer periods of time have been Hootsuite, Sprout Social, and Buffer. There are reasons I don’t use each of those anymore–whether it be lack of reporting, too high of a cost, or lack of features.

There are a lot of options, but one of the tools I use is SmarterQueue. I love how the publishing schedule is visually laid out, and that you can drag and drop as you decide to change publishing times.

You can also use their analytics to easily find your top-performing posts so you keep those in rotation.

SmarterQueue is a particularly useful tool for anyone with lots of evergreen content or items for sale. You can create a category just for your products and make sure you are regularly promoting them!

Evergreen content examples:

  • DIY tutorials
  • BTS (Behind the Scenes) blog posts
  • Recipes
  • Products
  • Links to your shop
  • Links to your social media profiles

As you can see, there’s a LOT of different types of content you can be sharing all the time! And for those situations where you don’t want the content repeated, you can choose to create a “one time” post.

Or if you are sharing a promotion or a seasonal item, you can set something to stop being shared on certain dates or after a certain number of times.

If you use this handy link you’ll double the standard free trial and be able to test the tool for a full month. (I’ll also get a month’s credit for the platform if you decide to sign up, because these are affiliate links.)

Let me know if you decide to give it a try!
